Amaranthus deflexus, also known as low amaranth, is a short-lived perennial or annual plant native to South America. It has been introduced to various parts of the world and can grow up to 1.5 ft in height. It flowers in the summer to fall and is commonly found in weedy areas or disturbed habitats. A hybrid of Amaranthus deflexus and Amaranthus muricatus, called Amaranthus × tarraconensis, has been observed in Europe.
