Capparis decidua, also known as karira, is a small tree or shrub found in arid regions of North Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia. It is highly adaptable to its harsh habitat, with drought-resistant and frost-tolerant qualities. The plant produces red flowers and pink fleshy berries that are a food source for birds. It is also used for its edible fruits and buds, as well as in folk medicine and herbalism. Additionally, it has practical uses in landscape gardening and afforestation to combat soil erosion.
