Diplotaxis tenuifolia, also known as perennial wall-rocket, is a flowering plant in the mustard family that is native to Europe and West Asia. It can now be found in many temperate regions where it has naturalized. In recent years, it has been cultivated for its salad leaves, which are marketed as wild rocket in Britain and arugula in the US. It is often confused with garden rocket, but can be distinguished by its deeply divided leaves and short stipe below the fruit. The plant produces bright yellow flowers and straight, flat pods with two rows of seeds. It has a complex taxonomic history and is the only species in its genus. Perennial wall-rocket is a ruderal plant, often found on roadsides and waste ground, and is tolerant of occasional salinity. It is also a host to 11 species of insects, some of which can cause damage to the plant. The leaves of this plant are commonly used in salads and are high in nutrients such as ascorbic acid, carotenoids, and polyphenols. They also contain glucosinolates, which give the plant its pungent flavor and have potential health benefits. In ancient times, the plant was used in remedies for women's health
