Pulmonaria saccharata, also known as Bethlehem lungwort or Bethlehem sage, is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant native to France and Italy. It is closely related to the common lungwort and grows up to 10 cm tall with lance-shaped leaves and pink or white flowers in spring. This plant is hardy in Europe and prefers shaded, nutrient-rich, moist soil. It has several cultivars, including 'Cotton Cool', 'Lewis Palmer', and 'Sissinghurst White', which have been recognized by the Royal Horticultural Society for their garden merit. The specific epithet saccharata refers to the sugared appearance of the leaves.
