Pseudogynoxys chenopodioides, also known as the Mexican flamevine, is a fast-growing vine in the Asteraceae family. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies and is prized for its showy orange to red flowers. This plant can grow up to 5 meters tall and requires full sun and well-drained soil. It can be grown as an annual in colder climates and can also be cultivated in Florida. Its former scientific name, Senecio confusus, refers to its "confused" appearance and rampant growth, while its current name, Pseudogynoxys chenopodioides, reflects its resemblance to other plants in the gynoxys and chenopodioideae genus.
