Deinandra fasciculata, also known as clustered tarweed or fascicled spikeweed, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family native to western North America. It is primarily found in Baja California and California, with a few collections reported in the San Francisco Bay area. This annual herb can grow up to 100 cm in height and has narrow leaves that resemble short needles. Its flower heads have a center of yellow disc florets surrounded by five yellow ray florets with three teeth. The plant blooms from May to October and has a tar-like smell. It is pollinated by bees and its seeds are dispersed by gravity or through consumption by birds and small mammals. Deinandra fasciculata may also hybridize with other plants in its genus as well as with Hemizonia and Centromadia species.
