Crepis tectorum, also known as narrowleaf hawksbeard, is an invasive annual plant that can grow up to 100 centimeters tall. It originated in Siberia and was introduced to Canada in 1890. It is now found in waste areas, tillage fields, and roadsides in Canada, Greenland, and northern parts of the United States. The plant is identified by its yellow dandelion-like flowers and lobed leaves. It can be controlled through chemical and non-chemical methods, but its presence can have negative impacts on the surrounding soil and plant species. Crepis tectorum is able to grow in various types of soil and is pollinated by insects. Its fruit is a dry achene and it can be controlled through herbicide application and agronomic practices. Biological control methods can also be used, but with caution.
