Agnorhiza invenusta, also known as Coville's mule's ears or rayless mule's ears, is a flowering plant found only in California. It grows in the Sierra Nevada foothills in Fresno, Tulare, and Kern Counties. This perennial herb has a thick taproot and a hairy, glandular stem that can reach up to a meter in height. Its leaves are triangular or oval in shape and can grow up to 15-20 centimeters long. The plant produces one or more flower heads with lance-shaped phyllaries that can be over 3 centimeters long. While typically lacking ray florets, there may be 2 or 3 present. The fruit is an achene about a centimeter long and does not have a pappus.
