Pterostylis tanypoda, also known as the swan greenhood, is a type of greenhood orchid found only in New Zealand. It has a rosette of leaves on the ground and inconspicuous bluish-green and white-striped flowers. The plant is perennial and has an underground tuber. Its flowers are crowded on a fleshy stem and have a hood-like structure. The plant blooms from October to January. It was first described in 1997 and its name comes from the Greek words for "long" and "foot". This orchid is found in mountainous and subalpine grasslands on the eastern side of South Island.
