Pterostylis arenicola, also known as the sandhill rustyhood, is a plant in the orchid family that is native to South Australia. It has a rosette of leaves near its base and reddish-brown and white flowers with a dark brown, insect-like labellum. Its distribution is limited to areas around Lake Alexandrina. This perennial herb has a unique flower structure, with a hood-like galea and thread-like lateral sepals. It blooms from August to October and is found in sandy soil in mallee and Callitris woodland. The species is vulnerable and faces threats such as weed invasion, grazing, and inappropriate fire regimes. Efforts have been made to conserve this species, including successful germination of its seeds in vitro.
