Pterostylis alpina, also known as the mountain greenhood, is a type of orchid found only in south-eastern Australia. It has a rosette of fleshy leaves at the base and typically produces a single white flower with green markings and back-swept lateral sepals. This perennial herb grows from an underground tuber and blooms from August to October. It was first described in 1915 and its name comes from the Latin word for "of high mountains". The mountain greenhood is mainly found in northern and eastern Victoria, with a small population in the Batlow region of New South Wales. It grows in high rainfall forests on south-facing slopes and is considered a vulnerable species in New South Wales.
