Dendrobium racemosum, also known as the erect pencil orchid, is a type of orchid found only in tropical North Queensland. It is a plant that grows on trees and rocks, and has yellowish stems, dark green leaves, and cream-colored to pale yellow flowers. The flowers have a unique thread-like tip on the labellum and bloom from September to October. This orchid was first described in 1936 and was later given species status in 1964. It is commonly found in highland areas and in the tops of rainforest trees at lower altitudes. The name "racemosum" comes from the Latin word meaning "full of clusters", referring to the many flowers that grow on each stem.
