Dendrobium eungellensis is a unique and beautiful orchid that is found only in northern Queensland. It is an epiphytic herb with dark greenish brown pseudobulbs and fragrant white flowers. This orchid grows in the Eungella National Park and is usually found in small clumps on trees, particularly Eucalyptus crebra. It was first described in 2006 and was given the name Tropilis eungellensis, but was later changed to Dendrobium eungellensis in 2014. The specific epithet "eungellensis" refers to the main distribution of the species. This orchid is mainly found in the ranges west of Mackay and is typically found in open forest and near rainforest.
