Cypripedium tibeticum is a species of slipper orchid found in Bhutan, Sikkim, and Western China. It belongs to the section Cypripedium in the subsec. Macrantha and can reach a height of 13-35 cm. Its leaves are glabrous and its inflorescence carries one flower, which can vary in color from deep maroon to pink. This species is often hard to distinguish from other slipper orchids and can hybridize with other species. It grows in open montane meadows and woodlands at elevations of 2300-4600 m. C. tibeticum is not a beginner's species and requires specific growing conditions, including protection in winter and constant watering in summer. It is closely related to C. macranthos and is often found in large colonies.
