Iris tuberosa, also known as snake's-head iris, is a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region. It is commonly found in countries such as Albania, France, Greece, and Italy. This plant is grown from tubers and thrives in well-drained soil with full sun to partial shade. It is often used as an ornamental garden plant and can be seen flowering in early spring. In the past, it was classified as a separate genus called Hermodactylus, but recent studies have placed it back into the genus Iris. It is now considered a member of the subgenus Hermodactyloides, known for its reticulate-bulbed bulbous irises.
