In summary, Iris stolonifera is a rhizomatous perennial plant species in the genus Iris, native to the mountains of Turkestan. It has red-skinned stolon roots and rhizomes, blue-grey leaves, and bi-coloured flowers in shades of white, blue, purple, and brown. It is a hardy plant that prefers well-drained soils and full sun. It has been used in hybridization to create different cultivars with varying flower colors and beards.
