Iris junonia is a rhizomatous perennial plant in the genus Iris, native to the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. It has short, glaucous leaves and tall stems with several branches, bearing numerous flowers in various colors including blue-purple, lavender, pale blue, cream, white, and yellow. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant in temperate regions, but its status is still unclear as it may be a synonym of Iris germanica or a separate species. It is a tetraploid plant with a chromosome count of 2n=48. Its name is derived from the Roman goddess Juno, and it is also known as 'Iris junoninana' or 'Iris pallida junonia'. It is found in dry meadows and along roadsides, and is not fully hardy in the UK. It can be propagated by division or seed growing, and has potential for use in breeding programs. However, like many other irises, it is toxic if ingested and can cause skin irritation. Its origins have been debated and it is listed as a synonym of Iris pallida by some sources.
