The yellowleaf iris, also known as Iris chrysophylla, is a wildflower found in the midwestern and southern regions of Oregon and northern California. It can be found in open, coniferous forests at elevations up to 5,500 feet. This herbaceous perennial has dark brown rhizomes and light green, linear leaves that can reach up to 50 cm in length. Its flowering stems are simple and slender, and can grow up to 20 cm. The flowers of the yellowleaf iris are cream to pale yellow with dark golden to reddish-brown or lavender veins, and bloom from April to June.
