Yucca faxoniana, also known as Faxon yucca, Spanish dagger, or giant dagger, is an evergreen shrub from the Yucca genus. It can grow up to 10 feet tall and has long, bladed leaves and bell-shaped, ivory flowers. These flowers are pollinated by moths and produce sweet, oblong fruits. The plant is native to the Chihuahuan Desert region of northern Mexico, southern New Mexico, and southwestern Texas, with its main habitat being around Big Bend National Park. It has been given different names in the past, but is now commonly referred to as either Yucca treculeana or Yucca faxoniana. Native Americans used this plant for food, fiber, and decorative purposes.
