Rohdea japonica, also known as Nippon lily, sacred lily, or Japanese sacred lily, is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant native to Japan, China, and Korea. It has evergreen leaves, yellowish flowers, and produces red berries. This plant is commonly cultivated for ornamental purposes and has symbolic significance in Chinese culture. In Japan, it is used in traditional flower arrangements and is also known for its medicinal properties in traditional Chinese medicine, although it is not recommended for consumption due to potential toxicity.
