Agave titanota, also known as the chalk agave, is a medium-sized succulent plant native to Oaxaca, Mexico. It has broad whitish green leaves with spines and can reach up to 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide. This plant produces a tall flower head with yellow flowers before dying, as it is monocarpic. It can tolerate temperatures down to -3°C and has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It is best grown in sheltered areas without severe frosts and is suitable for USDA hardiness zones 9-11. However, it may be prone to scale insects and magnesium deficiency. Some popular cultivars include 'White Ice', 'Filigree', and 'Solar Eclipse.'
