Allium virgunculae is a type of onion that is native to warm regions of Kyushu, Japan. It is available from commercial suppliers and is known for its late blooming and attractive appearance, growing up to 25 cm tall. This plant is also beneficial for attracting pollinators. There are currently three accepted varieties of Allium virgunculae, including var. koshikiense, var. virgunculae, and var. yakushimense.
