Allium runyonii is a type of wild onion that is found in southern Texas and parts of Mexico. It grows in sandy soils, particularly in the plains along the Río Grande. This plant produces small, egg-shaped bulbs and can grow up to 50 cm tall. Its flowers are white with pinkish midribs and have yellow anthers and pollen. Unlike other species of Allium, it does not have a crest on its ovary.
