Allium rubens, also known as the reddish onion, is a type of onion that is found in Siberia, European Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Xinjiang. It typically grows in sunny areas on steppes and scrublands. This plant produces small bulbs in clusters that are about 10mm in diameter. The scape, or stem, can reach up to 25cm in height and the leaves are tubular and similar in length to the scape, measuring 10-20mm in diameter. The umbels, or flower clusters, contain only a few reddish-purple flowers.
