Allium peninsulare, also known as Mexicali onion or Peninsula onion, is a species of wild onion native to North America. It can be found in California, USA, and extends into southern Oregon and northern Baja California. This plant grows in various habitats, including Valley Grassland, Foothill Woodland, and Coastal Chaparral, at elevations up to 1100 m. It has a small bulb and produces two to three leaves and an umbel of red-purple flowers from May to July. There are two varieties of Allium peninsulare, one with arched leaves and the other with straight leaves, and they can be found in different regions. The previously included variety, Allium peninsulare var. crispum, has now been renamed Allium crispum.
