Allium mongolicum is a species of wild onion native to Mongolia, Inner Mongolia, Tuva, Kazakhstan, and parts of China. It produces clumps of thin bulbs with hollow, tubular leaves that are shorter than the scape. The umbels are densely crowded with many red or purple-red flowers. It is a hardy species that can tolerate cold temperatures and is often used in gardens as an ornamental plant.
