Allium maackii is a type of wild onion that is found in northeastern Asia, specifically in regions such as Heilongjiang, Amur Oblast, Primorye, Khabarovsk, Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands. It typically grows on steep hillsides and cliffs at elevations between 200-500 meters. The plant has small, cylindrical or egg-shaped bulbs that can reach up to 15 mm in diameter. Its scapes, or flower stalks, can grow up to 50 cm tall and its leaves are narrow and flat. The flowers are clustered together in an umbel and are a pink color with a dark purple stripe.
