Allium howellii, also known as Howell's onion, is a species of wild onion native to California. It is a tall plant with a single cylindrical leaf and an inflorescence that can hold up to 100 dark-veined lavender to white flowers. There are several named varieties of this plant, each with slightly different characteristics. Howell's onion is found in the granite and serpentine soils of various mountain ranges, hills, and valleys in California, from San Joaquin County to San Bernardino County.
