Arum italicum subsp. canariense is a subspecies of the flowering plant Arum italicum, which belongs to the family Araceae. It is distinguished by its purple spathe tubes, 2-3 whorls of staminodes, and dull purple petioles and peduncles. This subspecies is found in clearings in Laurus forests in Madeira, the Canary Islands, and the Azores. It was originally described as a separate species, but recent studies have shown that it is genetically distinct from its mainland relatives. However, its exact relationship with other Arum species is still unclear.
