Cryptogramma cascadensis, also known as Cascade parsley fern or Cascade rockbrake, is a fern species that forms a clump from a rhizome. It has two types of leaves - a flat sterile leaf with lobed oval or diamond-shaped leaflets, and a longer fertile leaf with narrow, thick, fingerlike leaflets that cover the sporangia on the undersides. The plant is deciduous and was previously classified as part of the Cryptogramma acrostichoides species, but was later described as a distinct species by Ed Alverson in 1989. The type specimen was collected in Washington state and the plant is native to western North America, from British Columbia to California. It can be found growing in the cracks and crevices of mountain talus slopes, particularly in moist subalpine areas on volcanic or granite rocks.
