Ophioglossum reticulatum, also known as the netted adder's-tongue, is a type of fern found in various tropical and subtropical regions around the world. It is a hexaploid plant, meaning it has the highest number of chromosomes of any known plant, with a total of 720. This species is known for its single annual leaf, which is edible and commonly consumed by people in Africa and Asia. Its distribution includes Latin America, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Madagascar, Yemen, the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, China, Korea, Japan, and many tropical islands.
