Cycas guizhouensis is a rare species of cycad that is native to southwestern China, specifically in the provinces of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Guangxi. It is found in small populations in the Nanpan and Qingshui valleys, as well as in Xingyi, where it was used as a food source during the Cultural Revolution. However, the species is now facing threats due to habitat loss and overharvesting for medicinal purposes. With fewer than 50 individuals per population, Cycas guizhouensis is considered a critically endangered species.
