It is a small tree, growing to a height of up to 10 m, with a trunk diameter of up to 30 cm. The bark is grey-brown and scaly. The leaves are spirally arranged, lanceolate, and up to 5 cm long. The cones are berry-like, with a single seed.
Dacrycarpus kinabaluensis is a species of shrubby conifer found only on Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
