Krameria cistoidea is a perennial shrub in the plant family Krameriaceae. It is found across the Americas, with most species native to tropical regions. The shrub is known for its astringent properties, which are caused by the presence of rhataniatannic acid, similar to tannic acid. It is often found growing in association with other plants, acting as a root parasite. The flowers of Krameria cistoidea have specialized glands that produce a lipid, which is collected by bees as they pollinate the flowers. This shrub is commonly found in central Chile, where it grows in association with the Chilean Wine Palm.
