Musa hirta is a type of plant found in tropical Asia, specifically in Sarawak on the island of Borneo in Malaysia. It belongs to the banana family and is one of fourteen species of Musa that are native to Borneo. This plant is classified in the section Callimusa, which now includes the former section Australimusa, and has a diploid chromosome number of 2n = 20.
