Cissus tiliacea, also known as Vitis tuberosa, is a species of the Cissus genus in the Vitaceae family. It is native to Puebla, Mexico and can be found in rocky outcrops at an elevation of 5000 feet. This plant has a caudiciform stem that can grow up to ten inches in diameter and yards long, with additional deciduous vines that can reach lengths of five yards or longer. It is able to tolerate high heat and can be grown in full sun to light shade. During the summer, regular watering is necessary, but during the winter months when dormancy occurs, less water is needed. This plant is best suited for USDA hardiness zones 9b-11 and should be kept above 28°F to prevent frost damage.
