Ipomea macrorhiza is an extremely rare species of tuberous, night-blooming morning glory native to the Southeastern United States. It is a vigorous vine with stems growing up to 20 feet long and large, tuberous roots. Its white-and-pink flowers bloom at night and the leaf shape is highly variable. The seed capsules contain 3-5 pubescent seeds. It is not widely cultivated, but its roots are edible and it was cultivated by Native Americans as a food source.
