Ipomoea holubii is a species of flowering plant in the Convolvulaceae family. It is a shrub that can grow up to 2.5 meters tall and has many branches. The leaves are deciduous and have an ovate-cordate to circular-cordate shape, with some being oblong cordate. The flowers are pink and the seed pods are leathery. This plant is often mistaken for Ipomoea bolusiana, but can be differentiated by its larger and more spaced leaves and longer viny stems. It is found in various countries in Africa, including Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, and Botswana. It typically grows in bushveld and grassland areas, as well as along roadsides and rocky soil. When cultivating this plant, it is important to keep the bulb above ground to prevent rot and provide shade in intense sunlight. It has a slow growth rate and should be watered regularly during the summer, but not at all when the stems have faded in the winter. The soil should be well-draining and it can be grown in a greenhouse with a minimum temperature of 6°C.
