Micranthes aprica, also known as Sierra saxifrage, is a perennial herb found in the high mountains of California, Oregon, and Nevada. It grows in alpine habitats, such as meadows and near snowmelt streams. This plant spends most of the year in a dormant state to conserve water and rarely produces flowers. Its leaves are toothed and oval-shaped, and it produces small white flowers with whiskery stamens when it does bloom.
