Kalanchoe thyrsiflora, also known as paddle plant, flapjacks, desert cabbage, white lady, geelplakkie, meelplakkie, or plakkie, is a flowering plant native to Botswana, Lesotho, South Africa, and Eswatini. It was first named by William Henry Harvey in 1862 and is often confused with another species, K. tetraphylla, which is found in Madagascar. K. thyrsiflora is a succulent plant with a tall stalk that dies back after flowering. It has large, fleshy, grayish-green leaves with red margins and a white powdery coating. The inflorescence is a cluster of greenish waxy flowers with yellow lobes that bloom from autumn to spring. This plant is commonly found in grassveld areas among rocks.
