Crassula rupestris, commonly known as buttons on a string, is a plant species native to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. It has been recognized for its exceptional qualities and has been awarded the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. This plant is also known by other names such as bead vine, necklace vine, and rosary vine. There are currently two subspecies of Crassula rupestris that have been accepted: subsp. commutata and subsp. marnieriana.
