Aichryson dumosum is a critically endangered succulent plant that belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is found only on the island of Madeira. It can grow up to 38 centimetres in height and has reddish purple branches. The plant produces small yellow flowers with 7 petals and is typically found in crevices and sheltered areas among rocks. Unfortunately, the species is facing numerous threats such as invasive species, trampling, fires, droughts, and landslides. It is estimated that there are only 50 to 250 individuals left in a single locality on the island, occupying an area of only 100 square metres. Urgent conservation efforts are needed to protect this unique and rare plant from extinction.
