Elattostachys microcarpa is a species of rainforest tree native to north-eastern Australia. It grows up to 15 metres tall and has pinnate leaves arranged alternately on the stem. The young shoots and terminal buds are covered with short pale hairs. Cream flowers form on panicles, followed by round pink or red fruit which split to reveal black glossy seeds. The name Elattostachys refers to "little spikes", a flower feature of other plants in this genus, while the specific name microcarpa refers to the small woody seeds.
