Zanthoxylum liboense, also known as Chinese pepper, is a plant in the Rutaceae family. It is a shrub or climbing vine that can reach up to 1.5 meters in height. The plant has many hooks and short spines on its branches and leaf shafts. Its leaves have 5-9 leaflets that are thin, leathery, and pubescent. The flowers of this plant have not been observed, but it produces fruits in August to September. The plant is native to Libo, Guizhou, China and is typically found in shaded forests or bushes in valleys at an altitude of 730 meters.
