Philotheca coccinea is a flowering plant that belongs to the Rutaceae family and is found only in Western Australia. It is a shrub with unique club-shaped leaves that have warty glands on the lower surface. The plant produces beautiful red to pink flowers that grow singly in the leaf axils. It was first described in 1939 by Charles Gardner and was later renamed to Philotheca coccinea in 1998 by Paul G. Wilson. This plant is commonly found in shrublands on rocky ridges and hillsides in the Southern Cross to Norseman region. It is not considered a threatened species by the Government of Western Australia Department of Parks and Wildlife.
