Asterolasia rivularis is a small shrub with narrow leaves and yellow flowers. It is only found in a limited area in New South Wales, Australia. The shrub has young branches covered in brown to grey star-shaped hairs and its leaves are oblong or wedge-shaped, with occasional star-shaped hairs on the upper surface. The flowers grow in small clusters and have yellow petals with rusty hairs on the upper surface. This species was first described in 1998 and is typically found near streams in the Buxton area. It blooms in early spring.
