Asterolasia buxifolia is a unique species of shrub in the Rutaceae family that is found only in a small area of eastern New South Wales. It is characterized by its spindly stems covered in star-shaped hairs, leathery leaves, and yellow flowers with star-shaped hairs on the back of the petals. First described in 1863, this plant was rediscovered in 2000 and is currently listed as endangered due to threats such as weed invasion, habitat disturbance, and grazing by animals. It is found in a specific habitat of granite rocks in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales.
