Dysoxylum rigidum is a tree belonging to the Meliaceae family, known for its rigid leaflets. It can grow up to 30 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 60 centimeters. The bark has a reddish-grey color and releases an onion-like scent when cut. The tree produces pink to purplish-brown fruits that are round and about 2.8 cm in diameter. It is found in Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, and Borneo, and typically grows in lowland rainforests at altitudes up to 260 meters.
