Dysoxylum pettigrewianum, also known as spur mahogany, is a large tree native to the rainforests of Malesia, Papuasia, and Queensland. It can reach over 35 meters in height and is known for its tall, branched buttress roots. The leaves are imparipinnate with 7-15 leaflets and the flowers are small and fragrant. The species was first described in 1892 and named after Brisbane businessman and politician William Pettigrew. It is found in well-developed rainforests and is an important food source for animals such as cassowaries and Lumholtz's tree-kangaroo. The timber is used for various purposes and the tree is suitable for planting in parks and gardens. It is currently listed as least concern by the Queensland Department of Environment and Science.
