Cedrela montana is a tree species belonging to the Meliaceae family, commonly found in the Andes region of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru at elevations ranging from 1050 to 3600 meters. These trees can grow up to 20 meters tall and have a trunk with fissured bark. The leaves are imparipinnate, meaning they have an odd number of leaflets, and can range from 20 to 55 cm in length. The inflorescences, or flower clusters, are between 12 and 30 cm long and contain small greenish to cream colored flowers. The species name, montana, is derived from Latin and refers to its mountainous habitat.
